Overall Open Future Schools’ Students wrote over #5000 Letters!

After writing over 120 letters with Ostap (each), I think I did a good thing. Last year my class wrote the most letters, and we won a prize. This year I wanted to do even more, and I did. I am grateful that I had such an opportunity for the third time in my life. I hope that the letters I wrote helped the people in need.

Despite writing more than a hundred letters, I understand that I helped innocent people, who wanted to help their country or were imprisoned illegally.

Participation in this event was really great at most points. I participated as a volunteer and with my group we made a presentation about Ricky Mayers. We found many unfair cases and tried to help people to be released.

This was my third year taking part in Amnesty International write for rights. Every year it is a exhausting but exhilarating experience. When you participate in the marathon you feel that what you are doing is making a difference (which is true) and come out feeling full of purpose and fulfilled. You can choose a person who’s cause is close to your heart and write about it or about anyone, there is a lot of freedom to choose your cause. The knowledge that these letters have the power to alter a person’s fate and safe them from great harm or even death is more empowering than you could imagine. Amnesty International is a huge organisation and you can really feel it during this marathon. I recommend anyone who wants to make a difference and see the result to participate. ~ Gabryela

The amnesty international organization’s purpose is to help with freeing people who have been imprisoned or put on trial for illogical reasons. By writing these letter we are helping with the release of these people. They can be human rights activists who are just defending their rights or just people who have been imprisoned for something they did not do. Last year we actually helped with our letters and a lot of people were released. A lot of these people are just people with good intentions who are allegedly being accused and imprisoned against their will. Most of them do not even get the right to a free trial. ~ Perła

“Write a letter, change a life” #Participation has a long tradition at Open Future Schools under the guidance of Mrs Anna Przybylo.

The speakers from 8th grade of Open Future International School, as well as the high schoolers of @Open Future International High School Dwujęzyczne Liceum Ogólnokształcące: Hanna, Natalia, Andrei, Tymon & Temidayo presented to the school commmunity PEOPLE’s stories – the case studies that the whole world wants to support by giving them a voice.

We could do it through writing the letters support!

All students were actively involved in the writing for over 4 hours.
