“The Revenge” by Aleksander Fredro

Our talented students, Zixuan, Iga, Maria, Sofiia, Maja, and Ania, participated in the nationwide theater festival “Spotkania Fredrowskie.” They performed scenes from Aleksander Fredro’s “The Revenge” on the stage of the Stefan Jaracz Amateur City Theater in Otwock. This inspiring and developmental event provided the young actresses with their first opportunity to perform in front of their peers from across Poland. They also had the chance to watch performances by other youth theater groups. Following the scene reviews, workshops were conducted by actor Leszek Zduń, and the Classical Polish Theater presented “Mr. Count Throws a Tantrum,” performed by Professor Jarosław Gajewski and Dariusz Kowalski. An added benefit of this trip was cross-grade integration. Theater truly brings people together!

Our students shared their reflections on the event:

‘From the trip to Otwock, I will remember the atmosphere and the integration with people from different classes. The newly acquired stage experience and watching the performances of more experienced actors were also valuable.’

‘What I liked most about today’s trip was the acting. Some of our peers acted incredibly professionally, which looked very fascinating. I think I met some future great actors and actresses today. I got into the role of Cześnik Raptusiewicz best, as the scene was quite familiar to me, and the character of my hero corresponded to some of my traits. I really enjoyed the trip. I think today’s experience will be useful to me in the future.’

‘During today’s event, I had the opportunity to get to know the beautiful city of Otwock and many other wonderful young actors and actresses like me. Their performances inspired me and motivated me to work on my skills so that one day I could be as good as they are. I am also surprised by the fact that there are so many schools with drama clubs and so many students interested in acting from all over Poland.’

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Ad Theatrum Foundation for providing this invaluable opportunity.
