Nonviolent communication and self-defense workshops

High school students participated in classes on nonviolent communication and self-defense with instructor Bartosz Gagucki, who worked with our students in a #SolutionFocused #Workflow.

As an experienced soft skills trainer, university lecturer, karate, swimming, and GROM COMBAT instructor, whose passion is supporting people in discovering and striving for harmony, he built our students’ competencies in the following areas:

  1. emotional (reacting to shouts/unexpected situations, etc.).
  2. intellectual (5-step method).
  3. physical (learning self-defense elements).
    👉🏼Awareness of one’s body, emotions, and skills under the instructor’s guidance paved the way for our students to understand and accept, which manifests itself in a non-judgmental approach.
    👉🏼The school space: a chillout room and the school garden supported the entire day’s work and the process of working with the trainer. 🙏We thank Mr. Bartosz for his professional presentation, the opportunity, and the TSR experience, which allowed our students to experience #agency.
    This was the first in a series of classes that allowed our students to gradually experience changes that actually improve their mood and provide satisfaction with their actions.
    The most important tenets of TSR (Solution Focused Brief), or the central philosophy:
  4. If something works, do more of it.
  5. If something doesn’t work, do something different.
  6. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
    TSR focuses on:
  • a person’s resources and strengths, not their deficits and disorders;
  • their goals and the change they want to achieve, not their problems;
  • their past achievements, not their failures;
  • exceptions to problem situations, not the frequency and severity of problems.
