In keeping with our annual tradition, our high school students embarked on an unforgettable green school trip – an educational and tourist journey to Switzerland! Under the guidance of our teachers, our school community had the opportunity to experience not only the beauty of the Alps but also to delve into the secrets of science and culture.

Our trip began with a stroll through Zurich, Switzerland’s financial capital. We walked along the famous Bahnhofstrasse towards the picturesque Lake Zurich, visited the 13th-century Fraumünster Church adorned with Marc Chagall’s stained-glass windows, and admired St. Peter’s Church with the world’s largest clock.

Next, full of excitement, we headed to Alpnachstad to ride the famous Pilatus railway. This is a real treat for adventure enthusiasts – with an inclination of up to 48 degrees, it’s one of the steepest cogwheel railways in the world!

Of course, we couldn’t miss out on something sweet! A visit to the chocolate factory in Broc allowed us to discover the secrets of making this delicious treat.

One of the most important highlights of the program was our visit to CERN – the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva. This is the world’s largest particle physics center, where scientists investigate what matter is made of and what forces hold it together. We had the chance to see state-of-the-art accelerators and detectors that allow scientists to observe particles moving at speeds close to the speed of light. It was an extraordinary experience that sparked our scientific curiosity!

The trip to Switzerland was an unforgettable blend of learning, adventure, and discovering the beauty of this Alpine country!
